Asian paraxylene prices edged lower on
April 27, with the CFR Unv1/China marker assessed down $23.33/mt on the day at
$1,065/mt. On April 27, June Brent crude futures were down $2.79/b at $78.20/b,
while the C&F Japan naphtha marker lost $16/mt on the day at $637.75/mt.
The PX-naphtha spread narrowed to $427.25/mt on April 27 from $434.58/mt a day
earlier. Paper bids and offers were lower on the day, but a trader said the
market looked rather undefined. During the Market on Close, or MOC, assessment
process on April 27, there were bids and offers for both June and July cargoes,
but most offers and bids moved very slowly and the bid-offer range was quite
