Geopolitical tensions have eased in the Middle East, resulting in lower Asian methanol price on April 22. Trading activity in China was low on the first trading day of the week, with many market participants waiting for more clarity on fundamentals. East China methanol price discussions were around Yuan 40/mt, or $5.55/mt less than April 19, at Yuan 2,665-2670/mt. Sources said that crude oil futures fell in the afternoon Asian trade on April 22, after China's central banks left their benchmark loan prime rates unchanged.
