On the Asian naphtha markets, there was a frenzy of activity on June 4 for second-half delivery in July. Two tenders were from South Korea with one from each Japan and Indonesia. Brokers maintained the same backwardation structure as they set the time spread for the front-month Mean of Japan Naphtha Swaps July-August at $6.25/mt in midmorning Asian trading on June 4. This was unchanged from the previous closing. Crude oil futures fell in midafternoon Asian trading on June 4, as jitters about OPEC production levels and weakening demand fueled fears of an oversupplied crude market in later years.
