naphtha

Spot activity in the Asian naphtha markets
increased April 11, with one tender issued amid weak downstream petrochemicals
demand. The price of CFR Japan naphtha was $45.33/mt, or 37.40%, at the April
10 Asia close. This is the lowest level since Jan. 5, when it touched $40.9/mt. The economy in China has not recovered and,
to make things worse, many factories have moved out of China, which is
detrimental for the economy." An end-user stated that India's IOC
issued an offer tender for 90,000 mt naphtha for April 29-May1 loading. This
was on an FOB basis. According to tender documents, the tender will
close on April 11. More details about the trade are yet to be
received.
