Asian Iso MX: Prices drop on the week due to low demand / Isomer MX prices increase $7/mt in one day / PX drops $10.50/mt in a single week

Due to lower upstream prices and a sluggish market, Asian isomer grade mixed xylenes on July 26 fell by $19.50/mt from the previous week. They were now $887/mt at FOB Korea. All the markers, however, rose by $7/mt day on day as upstream prices increased. Paraxylene downstream rose $4.33/mt from day to day, reaching $998/mt CFR Taiwan/China. However, the price fell $10.50/mt on a weekly basis. The PX/MX spread increased $9/mt in a week, to $111/mt. This is a positive development for PX producers. The Chinese MX market, that has been stabler than the international markets in recent months, declined on July 26. Domestic China ex-tank assessments were down Yuan 43.33/mt to Yuan 7,695/mt or $927/mt based on importparity. East China MX inventories were less than 30,000 mt during the...
