lower crude- China's market returns after holiday- Arbitrage activity in the US is heard slowlyOn May 5, Asian isomer grade mixed xylene
prices fell by $31.50/mt on a weekly basis to $930.50/mt from FOB Korea to
$953.50/mt from CFR Taiwan, and $15/mt to $955/mt for CFR China. This was due
to lower crude oil and other markets. On May 5, paraxylene fell $45/mt in one week to $1 022/mt
CFR Taiwan/China, resulting in a PX-MX price spread of $91.50/mt. This is a
decrease of $13.50/mt. Demand from China,
which returned to the country after Labor Day on May 4, cushioned the fall in
isomer MX. Domestic prices in East China,
