Asian Iso MX: Increases $22/mt in a week due to shrinking China inventory and firmer PX / PX up by $40.33/mt in a week / South Korea isomer-MX imports are up 28% year-on-year

The FOB Korea mixed xylene price increased $22/mt to $803/mt in January 2017. This was due to new sanctions announced by US against Russia's oil imports. These sanctions caused crude oil to reach over $80/barrel during the week beginning Jan. 13 and China's MX inventories to drop to a multi-month low. CFR China's price increased by $17/mt in a week to $808/mt. The domestic China ex tank assessment rose Yuan 23,33/mt to Yuan 6,778.33/mt or $808.40/mt based on import parity. Market sources reported that the MX stock in East China fell to its lowest level of 16,000 mt since September 2023. Paraxylene prices in other markets rose by $40.33/mt from last week to $898.33/mt, CFR Taiwan/China. The PX-MX differential increased by $18.33/mt, or $95.33/mt, over the same period. Data shows...
