Asian Iso-MX: FOB Korea falls $28/mt on week; PX $33/mt lower / PX-MX spread narrows / China's trade activity slows before Lunar New Year holidays

On Jan. 24, Asian isomer mixed xylene dropped $28/mt from the previous week to $775/mt at FOB Korea. The CFR Taiwan mark was $19/mt down week over week, at $799/mt. This is in line with indications that the spread between FOB Korea versus CFR Taiwan has widened to $24/mt. CFR China's marker fell $18/mt to $790/mt in line with domestic Chinese prices. On Jan. 24, the domestic China ex tank assessment increased by Yuan 20/mt per day, to Yuan 6,650/mt or $794.90/mt based on import parity. Some Chinese market participants who started their Lunar New Year holiday in the week beginning Jan. 20 appeared to be slowing down.
