Asian Iso MX: Falling $4-$9/mt a week due to lower PX / PX falls $11.66/mt in a week / China MX inventory declines

Asian isomer-grade Mixed Xylene fell $9/mt week on week to $919/mt from FOB Korea. It also dropped $8/mt to $934/mt from CFR Taiwan, and $4/mt to $943/mt for CFR China, on July 12, as downstream paraxylene decreased over the past week. On July 12, paraxylene fell $11.66/mt from the previous week, to $1,025.67/mt for Taiwan/China. The PX price was also down $1/mt. Despite the weakening of PX, market sources reported higher operating rates in PX plants located in South Korea and China. Market sources stated that the increased runs in China likely accounted for the drop in East China MX inventories by 22% on a weekly basis to 35,000 mt.
