Asian Iso MX: Increases $4/mt amid China run-cuts and stronger PX / PX increases $2/mt in the past week / China reformers cut runs

Asian isomer grade mixed xylene increased by $4/mt over the past week to $734/mt at FOB Korea. It was $749/mt at CFR Taiwan, and $734/mt at CFR China on October 25. The market rose on the backs of run-cuts heard in China, and a slight increase in paraxylene. PX increased by $2/mt over the past week to $850/mt FCL Taiwan/China. China's MX ex tank assessment increased by Yuan 6.66/mt from day to day, or $718.63/mt based on import parity. The domestic price of the marker also rose Yuan 146.66/mt in a week. According to a market observer, the rise in prices in China was caused by the reduction of reformer runs, particularly among producers in Northeast China’s Shandong Province, where Yulong Petrochemical has its base.
