Asian Iso MX: FOB Korea drops $36/mt from last week due to lower crude / Midweek lows hit 2.5-year low / PX Drops $26/mt in a Week

On Sept. 13 Asian isomer grade mixed xylene prices fell by $36/mt on the week, to $701/mt for FOB Korea; $716/mt for CFR Taiwan; and $29/mt to $721/mt for CFR China. This was due to lower prices on downstream and upstream market. The isomer MX price rose over the last two days of the week as crude oil futures prices recovered. On September 13, the MX price was assessed at $4/mt higher than the previous day. FOB Korea prices have fallen to a level that is more than two and a half years old, both in terms of outright price as well as the spread to feedstock naphthalen.
