Asian Iso MX: Falling $28/mt per week due to low China demand after the holidays / New China MX capacities on the Horizon / MX-naphtha spreading narrows on week

Asian isomer grade mixed xylene dropped $28/mt to $760/mt from $775/mt in Taiwan, and $30/mt to $765/mt in China on October 11, as the demand for MX was expected by Yulong Petrochemical to rise with its new production. A Chinese MX trader stated that the new refinery located in Northeast China’s Shandong Province may be able sell up to 30,000-50,000mt of isomerMX on the domestic market by October. Yulong Petrochemical started trial operations on one of its 200,000 b/d crude distillation units and secondary units, Sept. 25. Crude was first fed into the unit in August. The domestic price of isomer MX in East China fell by approximately Yuan 203/mt after the Chinese market returned from its holiday.
