Asian Iso MX: Increases $15/mt per week due to firming upstream and improving outlook / PX drops $12.66/mt in a week and the PX-MX Spread narrows / China MX stock close to 80,000 mt

The price of Asian isomer grade mixed xylene increased $15/mt in a week, from $727/mt to $742/mt to CFR Taiwan, and $727/mt to CFR China on Nov. 8, amid relatively stable upstream prices and partly tracking paraxylene movement at the end the week. Isomer-MX increased $4/mt day on day. This mirrored the increase in downstream paraxylene which closed at $834.67/mt for Taiwan/China on November 8. PX prices dropped $12.66/mt from week to week. The PX-MX differential narrowed $27.66/mt in a week and reached $107.67/mt. Upstream, the spread between naphtha and MX has increased over the past week beginning Nov. 4, to $68/mt by Nov. 8.
