Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene
prices fell $5/mt week on week April 12 because of sluggish demand. In the
upstream market, styrene monomer at $1,100/mt CFR China, down $15/mt on the
week, and the acrylonitrile CFR Far East Asia marker $10/mt lower on the week
at $1,430/mt. The butadiene CFR China assessment fell $10/mt on the week to
$1,070/mt. Even though feedstock prices declined across the board, market
sources lamented about starkly slower ABS demand. Selling indications were
heard in the $1,380-$1,400/mt range during the day, with some producers saying
that the range was close to a breakeven point. Tradable indications were heard
in the $1,370-$1,380/mt range. CFR China
