India's ample supply of AA despite tight storage / Tepid downstream demand for photovoltaics in China

AA/VAM : Asian acetic acids prices were stable during the week ending May 9, except for China. Prices in China rose due to bullish fundamentals. India AA prices, however, were lower. Sources said that domestic AA prices were around Yuan 50 to 100/mt higher in China due to an unplanned outage at a plant in Henan. A trader stated that "AA supplies have been tighter after Labor Day holidays." India's AA market continued to be flooded with excess inventory, which further pushed the market down. Sources claim that the Indian AA Market is experiencing an oversupply. Coupled with inadequate storage, importers are under immense pressure to liquidate their stocks at lower prices in order to accommodate new cargoes.
