India PVC price drops amid lower offers / Fresh offers decline amid weak demand / Adjacent markets stable - Aug 29, 2024

In the week ending August 28, the CFR India PVC mark softened, with major suppliers offering prices $110/mt below the previous issued price. This was due to persistently low demand and a falling discussion level. Sources said that the new $800/mt offer is close to what market participants expected and suppliers are experiencing increased interest in buying. The trade participants reported that there has been a slight increase in the demand for PVC, but this could take several weeks to become more pronounced. One trader stated that material availability was moderate in general, and added that imports had reached 135,000 mt as of August 20. The PVC market is improving, according to a domestic producer.
