CFR China methanol was stable on May 9 despite the fact that a major Iranian producer, Zagros Petrochemical Company, had shut down its two plants with a combined production capacity of 3.3 millions mt/year due to technical problems. Zagros Petrochemical Company shut down its 1,65 million mt/year number 1 methanol unit on May 8 due to technical issues. A company source confirmed that the No. 1 methanol plant was shut down on May 8 due to technical problems. ZPC's 1,65 million mt/year Number 2 methanol plant was also affected by technical issues. The company source stated that production ceased at the No. 2 methanol facility on April 17.
