The methanol price in India has continued to decline Oct. 18, as the bearish fundamentals have affected both domestic and international markets. Before the Market on Close ended on October 18, India's domestic offers from Kandla and Mumbai ex-tanks dropped to Rupees 26, down at least Rupees 0.50/kg on a day basis and by around Rupees 2/kg on a week basis. Sources said that the offers fell even further after 4:30 pm Singapore Time. Sources said that excess stock in ports and the expectation of several cargoes arriving within weeks caused Indian importers to be under pressure. Market sources indicated that vessels with at least 20,600 mt of methanol bound for Kandla port and 30,550 for Mumbai were expected to arrive on Oct. 18-20. A 500 mt shipment from Mumbai...
