Asian toluene prices collapsed
on March 16 in response to the collapse of crude oil futures and the entire
energy complex. Analysts
agree that the drop in crude oil prices has been driven by growing concerns
about the stability of the global financial system. Credit Suisse announced it
would borrow billions from Swiss National Bank to increase liquidity. The toluene markers were rolled over March 16, and took the
average of second-half April laycans and first-half may laycans. The early trading session saw an $880/mt FOB Korea offer,
which was later reduced to $865/mt by $865/mt. This price includes 2,000 mt
