Due
to a sharp fall in crude oil futures prices and other energy complex assets,
Asian toluene prices fell March 20. There was also little trade activity
throughout the region. Due to growing concern about the stability of the
financial system, oil prices plunged to several months lows March 20, sparking
new recessionary fears that could impact fuel demand. Globally, the
banking sector crisis is continuing ahead of a critical meeting of Federal
Reserve scheduled for March 21, The ICE May Brent crude oils futures
contract dropped $5.1/b to $70.34/b by the 0830 GMT Asian closing. An
offer was made for a 1,000-mt H1 April-loading cargo, at $860-875/mt FOB Korea.
