Trading in the Asian benzene markets was
very thin on April 24, as a result of a lackluster demand and lack of
arbitrage opportunity to other regions. Most trading took place in paper
derivatives, while the physical markets slowed down, in part due to the
falling crude oil prices. The previous session's trading momentum
was more bullish, with four open physical deals concluded. The
physical FOB Korea benzene marker fell $13.33-18.63/mt during the session. The
price of the benzene at $959-989/mt. The front
month ICE Brent crude oil futures contract was at $81.30/barrel at
4:30 pm Singapore time after rebounding from below $81/b during the day. However, the FOB
