The spot export prices of polypropylene on
an FAS Houston base were unchanged from the week before, June 14. Demand was
reported to be weaker and chemical makers' expectations for the second quarter
were moderated. On June 13-14, it was heard that the
rail car value of homopolymer PP grade PP at 38 cents/lb (or $937/mt FAS
Houston), was a constant. The grade was at this level on June
14. The FAS assessment included 4.50 cents/lb (down
from 5.50 cents/lb) to account for packaging and transporting the resin to
ports for export. This was at the top end of the range heard on June 14. It
