Higher premiums due to tight / Supply YNCC, South Korea's YNCC, seeks naphtha to be delivered in H1, H2 for June / Kuwait's KPC offers 50,000 mt full-range naphtha for May 11-12 loading

Market sources reported that the Asian naphtha market remained stable due to increased interest in buying by end-users who were looking to cover shorts due tight supply. This drove premiums up. Brokers pegged the May-June mean of Japan naphtha Swaps time spread to $11.75/mt at midday Asian trade on April 26. This was up by 75 cents/mt compared to the previous session. A Singapore-based trader stated that there could be supply uncertainties to meet demand in Asia, causing the market tightness. Premiums are higher as a consequence. The trader said that South Korea's LG Chem won a tender on April 23 to deliver 25,000 mt of open-spec naphthalene to Yeosu in the first half of June at a price of $8/mt over MOPJ naphtha assessments CFR.
