- Higher import demand due to China's supply tightness- Be cautious due to lower
downstream usage

Asian styrene monmer rose on March 13 as
China's import demand increased due to higher domestic prices. CFR China's marker was up $27/mt to $1,080/mt.
This is due to stronger import demand for April delivery cargoes. FOB Korea
was also up $27/mt at $1,075/mt. China's import demand was supported
in part by tight supply seen for April cargoes. This resulted in higher
domestic prices. Market participants warned against anticipating
a sudden surge in demand, as the volumes required were not large. A trader
stated that although there are tight supply conditions, downstream operating
rates have dropped so it is possible to fill the required volumes quickly.
