On April 18, the NYMEX RBOB price was lowered by 0.53% or 1.50 cents/gal. Market participants withdrew from the market when no offers, bids or trades were made during the Market on Close process. As the MOC was quiet, the MTBE differential assessment was stable. The FOB ARA outright MTBE price was assessed at $146.60/mt higher than the FOB USG outright MTBE price. Last assessed April 12 was $88/mt for the freight of liquid chemical in 5,000mt vessels going from USG into Europe, indicating that there could be arbitrage available from the US Gulf towards Europe.
