The Asian market for recycled high-density plastics grew in the week ending Oct. 16. This was in line with the price increases in virgin markets following the Chinese Golden Week holiday. The price of recycled HDPE natural film increased $20/mt in the past week to $750/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, recycled HDPE black blastmolding pellets remained stable at $570/mt on Oct. 16, FOB Southeast Asia. Sources report that there have been more inquiries for recycled pellets throughout the week, mainly due to improved sentiments in China. This hasn't yet translated into significant increases in prices. Virgin prices in China had increased the week before following the Golden Week holiday. After the Chinese government announced a number of stimulus measures just before the holidays, sentiments took a turn for the better....
