The Asian market for high density polyethylene remained stable during the week ending September 4, as buyers stayed away and only restocked on a need basis. HDPE film prices remained unchanged at $900/mt CFR Far East Asia, and $950/mt in CFR Southeast Asia. Vietnam's trading activity in SE Asia was very low due to national holidays that lasted from August 31 to September 3. According to sources, Indonesian traders are also slow to trade as converters do not rush to buy cargoes. The Indonesian market has not changed much. Buyers are stocking up on a need-to basis and are not concerned about their inventory. A producer said that most prefer to keep their inventories low to manage cash flow. The demand for cargoes denominated in dollars continues to be weak...
