The Asian market for high density polyethylene remained stable during the week ending September 4, as buyers stayed away and only restocked on a need basis. HDPE film prices remained unchanged at $900/mt FAR East Asia and $950/mt FAR Southeast Asia for the week. Vietnam's trading activity in SE Asia was subdued due to national holidays that lasted from August 31 to September 3. According to sources, Indonesian converters are not in a hurry to buy cargoes. This is why trading has remained slow. The Indonesian market has not changed much. Buyers are stocking up on a need-to basis and are not concerned about their inventory.
