Asian HDPE market: China stable despite thin trading / Fewer offers heard on Southeast Asia Market / India HDPE prices are on the rise

"CFR offer price are too high now, so there is a strong wait-and see attitude," said a Chinese trader. Prices were in the $990-$1,040/mt range. On the domestic market however, trading activity increased despite the recent fall in futures. Sources said that this was due to a short-term restocking as downstream inventories depleted. HDPE film grades were up $10/mt on the previous week, at $980/mt for Far East Asia on June 5. Chinese domestic HDPE was down Yuan 25, week-on-week at Yuan 8,350/mt from East China.
