Asian HDPE market: Southeast Asia sees muted trade / SE Asia buyers replenish as required / CFR Far East Asia prices softening

There were few new offers made in the week leading up to July 10. The Southeast Asian market for high density polyethylene was quiet. HDPE film grade CFR Southeast Asia is stable from week to week at $1.010/mt on July 10. Most suppliers have already closed their monthly deals, according to sources. The demand for HDPE grades was still weak in the region. Sources attributed the persistently low demand in the past to environmental regulations, which have affected the demand for HD film and plastic shopping bags. Sources said that end-users also were not rushing to buy large quantities and were instead replenishing their inventories when needed.
