H1 June cargoes enjoy better interest / More PTA Turnarounds Begin

Asian Paraxylene Prices were higher on May 9 in line with stronger crude oil, but ample spot supplies remain a worry. Asian paraxylene prices were up $3.67/mt for the day, at $1.015/mt CFR unv1/China on May 9. The oil prices rose on May 9 as the steady increase in crude inflows to China from year-to-year confirmed projections for robust demand. The ICE Brent crude futures for July were valued at $84.08/b on May 9th, up from the $82.25/b of the previous day. Traders said that cargoes arriving during the first half June could have seen better interest than those arriving in the second half.
