Participants cited a decline in crude oil prices and a weaker demand for polyester as the reasons why the Asian glycols market ended lower during the week ending Nov. 15. Some sources claimed that the polyester market, which is the most important, was in its slow season. The week saw a gradual decline in demand. The week's slower trade was also due to some textile plants lowering their operating rates. Several sources estimated that the inventory of polyester was around 20 days worth. However, they expected it to increase in the coming weeks due to a reduction in manufacturing activity at year's end.
