The Asian glycols market fell during the week ending Dec. 20. Several participants predicted a decline in demand due to the Lunar New Year celebrations. Sources on the market said that operating rates for polyester and polyethylene would be reduced in January before the holidays to allow employees to return home. However, final operating rates have not yet been decided. The demand for cargoes in the second half January has dried up. Several buyers have said that they are not interested in stocking up because the holiday season is too close. In turn, buying and selling indicators fell from week to week.
