Asian paraxylene is down $8/mt per day to
$1,010.67/mt for the May 4th. Prices
of paraxylene fell in Asia as a result of the weakening global economy,
although Chinese downstream demand improved slightly. A trader from China stated that "Crude prices are still
uncertain and PX is falling because of this." Oil prices dropped on fears that the recent bank crisis and
another interest rate hike would slow down economic growth. In Asian trade, the July ICE Brent crude futures were down
94 cents/barrel to $73.11/b. Sources said
