The China glacial acrylic acid remained stable in the week to Nov. 5 amid thin trading activities. The profit margin of GAA has narrowed, but market participants were willing to maintain its prices due to the continued weak downstream demand, and lack of support for its GAA prices. In plant news, China's Formosa's 340,000 mt/year crude acrylic acid plant in Ningbo plans to undergo maintenance in mid- November, a company source said Nov. 5. "It is estimated to last for two weeks," the company source said. A GAA plant in Nanjing is heard to undergo maintenance or a lowering of its operation rate in November, market sources speculate.
