On March 4, the Chinese market for glacial acrylic acids was down Yuan 100/mt per day, and Yuan 300/mt per week. This is based on a tradable indicator heard between Yuan 7450-7600/mt. Oil prices have fallen in tandem with the drop in GAA prices. The offer is eager to buy... it is clear that the trend is for GAA's decline. A Chinese trader stated that when oil is in decline, demand will be bad. UNV1 Formosa Acrylic Acid plant currently produces at 100% and plans to keep this rate. A company source stated, "We must raise the overall factory usage rate... a high rate of utilization is necessary to spread out the fixed costs for the entire factory."
