Asian Glacial Acryl Acid: Prices Rise amid Upstream Strength / Spot supply is expected to decline with planned maintenance mid-December / Shandong propylene increases Yuan 5/mt up to Yuan 6,950/mt

Prices increased in the Chinese market for glacial acrylic acids in the week ending Dec. 10. This was due to a stronger market upstream and the expected tightening of the market in East China after the planned maintenance work on two production plants in mid-December. A China-based producer said that "the offer is higher this weekend, likely supported by feedstock price." A second source on the market expressed a similar opinion, stating that "prices of crude acrylic acid have firmed up with slight increases and this supports [glacial acid] prices". The source also stated that "maintenance scheduled at Ningbo units and Nanjing around the middle of the month is expected to reduce supply".
