Asian Glacial Acryl Acid: Prices remain unchanged as downstream demand returns / China's Wanhua Chemical closes Yantai AA Unit for Turnaround / GAA trades concentrated in the lower end of the price range

On Feb. 11, the Chinese prices for glacial acrylic acids remained unchanged from day to day, but they were up Yuan $100/mt in one week. Tradeable indications had been heard at Yuan 8250-8450/mt. A trader stated that "the actual orders are concentrated towards the lower end of the range". Sources at Wanhua Chemical in China said that the unit, which produces 100,000 mt/year of acrylic acid in Yantai, was shut down for maintenance during the week ending February 7, but did not specify the duration. The source stated that the plant produced 50,000 mt/year glacial acrylic acids.
