Asian Glacial Acryl Acid: Prices increase on upstream strength / Market Strengthens Due to Higher Cost of Upstream Feedstock Propylene / Downstream buyers reluctant to accept rapid price increases

On Oct. 8, the prices of acrylic acid ex-works in north and east China increased by Yuan 200/mt for the day, and Yuan 7,000/mt for the week. This was due to discussions at this level regarding stronger upstream feedstock and the market sentiment after China's stimulus. A domestic producer stated that the main reason behind the price increase is propylene. East China's supply was relatively tight, which supported prices. A Chinese producer also said that the government's recent stimulus measures were giving a small boost to downstream demand. Trade sources have also reported an increase in inquiries from customers following the Golden Week holidays.
