The Asian methanol was down $1/mt from the
previous day to $276/mt CFR China on May 10, while the CFR India price fell by
$2/mt. The arrival
of cargoes in ports increased port stocks. However, expectations about the
supply length caused India ex-tank discussions and CFR to fall. On May 10, there were few trade discussions and no offers or
bids were made. Market participants,
taking their cues form China, became cautious and predicted that prices would
continue to fall in the days ahead. The
amount of cargo will make India long. Iran
is an aggressive seller in June. "India
