In the week ending April 27, weak
downstream demand affected Asian vinyl acetate monomer and acetic acid market
fundamentals. Market
sources reported that domestic AA prices in India fell to Rupee 37.50 to 38/kg
or $420 to $421/mt on a parity basis due to weak downstream ethyl-acetate
demand. Market sources reported that
Indian buyers held out for a range of $415-$420/mt for CFR India on April 27
based upon deals concluded the previous week at $420/mt for cargoes from Unv1,
$421/mt for cargoes from Malaysia, and $420/mt for cargoes from Singapore. A Chinese seller stated that China-origin cargoes were
priced at $450-$470-500/mt for CFR India on April 27. This made them less
