- Front-month prices down 37 cents in recent days- Higher styrene trade not repeatable: source

Gulf Coast benzene prices eased lower for a
fifth consecutive day April 27 to the lowest level since March 28. Front-month benzene prices have fallen by 37 cents since
April 19. May DDP benzene at 359 cents/gal, just
below the most competitive offer of 360 cents/gal. May FOB was assessed at
369 cents/gal, also down 3 cents on the
day. Multiple sources attributed the falling prices in recent
days to weakening prices in the wider
energy market. Downstream, styrene
was talked at $1,030-$1,050/mt. A reported
trade at $1,170-1,210/mt for May
FOB was said to not be repeatable due to the circumstances surrounding the trade.
