Asian styrene monomer higher April 4 amid
stronger crude. As
of 0830 GMT, the front month ICE Brent futures contract had risen $1.31/b and
was at $85.52/b. Positive sentiment has
been reflected in consecutive weeks of inventory draw in east China, despite
the fact that styrene monomer is still long in China's domestic market. A source said that although spot market discussions remain
muted at the moment, traders may become more active in the market as
inventories fall. Another source estimates
that East China's inventory stood at 135,500 mt as of March 31. Downstream, many polystyrene and
acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene producers spoke of lackluster demand. A producer said that they had to raise their offer prices to
