FOB Korea increases by $4.50/mt and CFR China is up $7/mt / March China benzene exports increase 13% on a monthly basis

On April 24, the Asian benzene markets rose due to higher upstream prices. The benzene FOB China and CFR Korea markers were $1,063.17/mt on April 24. This was up $7/mt from the previous day. The front-month ICE Brent contract closed the day 25 cents higher at $88.44/b. Meanwhile, the C+F Japan Naphtha marker was $4.50/mt more expensive at $711.125/mt. The price of crude oil futures was slightly higher at midafternoon in Asia on 24 April, on the back of signs that economic growth is improving in the Eurozone and a lower dollar. China's domestic benzene price was reported to have increased by Yuan 80/mt per day, to Yuan 8,875/mt. Market sources reported that downstream SM price had risen due to supply concerns about a possible shutdown of a SM unit...
