Sources said that Asian styrene monomer
markets declined on March 9, in line with a weaker domestic China. Sources said that the FOB Korea marker was
$1,071/mt with a wider spread of $5/mt to CFR China. The spread between CFR
China and FOB ARA markers was $187.25/mt in March 2. The spread
has narrowed to $93.50/mt by March 8. A trader mentioned that the
arbitrage window was still open for a few days last week but was no longer
workable. In India demand for styrene remains low. As
inventories are high, floating cargoes were being offered at CFR China plus $30-35/mt
