FOB deal at $1,420/mt heard in the Mediterranean / May contract pricing for propylene drops Eur10/mt

According to sources in the market, European acrylonitrile markets were tight to balanced during the week ending April 30, as limited material access continued to drive prices higher. The spot price of acrylonitrile increased by $50/mt in a week, to $1,450/mt CIF, due to the tightness and lack of deals in neighboring regions. One deal completed in the Mediterranean at $1,420/mt FOB, which supported the increase in prices in the ARA area. Players continue to be attracted by the increasing imports of acrylonitrile as well as derivative products. This has led to a rise in prices, which is outpacing the underlying weakness in demand from end users. A producer stated that there was "some interest on the market, but not much available." This is a situation which is balanced too...
