Asian acetic acids and vinyl acetates monomers closed lower in the week ending May 30, due to export pressure from China and increased inventory in India. The market was quiet on China-origin cargoes as many participants were in Seoul, South Korea attending a chemicals conference. FOB China acetic acids were $15/mt less than the previous week, at $350/mt on May 30. This was below offers of $355/mt. The CFR Far East Asia acetic acids price was down $15/mt from the previous week to $450/mt, reflecting declines on adjacent markets and limited spot discussions. CFR Southeast Asia's acetic acids price fell $10/mt from the previous week to $455/mt, under an offer of $460/mt CFR Southeast Asia. India's ex-tank acetic acids prices fell by $10/mt on the week.
