The forward price structure of benzene has
been flattened by tight availability on the Gulf Coast and delayed imports,
despite overall tight supplies. The
flat forward structure of Gulf Coast benzene prices on April 5 was a result of
the shift from backwardation to forward structure. This would usually indicate
that tight supply conditions have been resolved. This was despite the long-delayed imports as well as
