The CFR China propylene markets remained
unchanged on April 19, as buyers continued to refrain from making spot
purchases. The
ICE June Brent crude futures contract at 4:30 pm Singapore time was down
$2.86/mt compared to the previous Asian closing at $83.54/lb. A South Korean producer stated that the tight supply and
weak downstream demand on the propylene markets balanced each other out, and
this hindered active discussions for import trades. The propylene manufacturer said that the growth rate in
China Q1 was 4,5%. This is above expectations. I believe it will take time for
