Asian
methanol prices were $2-7/mt lower this week than week March 10, amid concerns
about renewed supply from Iran and China, as well as bearish fundamentals for
Southeast Asia. On the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, the May futures
contract closed Yuan 67/mt less week than week at Yuan 2,542/mt February
10. Regular supply from Iran to China will resume after the restart of
some Iranian methanol plant. Fresh cargoes will arrive in April to alleviate
low coastal inventory levels (around 690,000.mt). Normaly, Chinese
domestic prices would have risen if there was less inventory. According to
market sources, Chinese methanol futures fell and domestic ex-tank price
